Creative & budget-conscious collaging
As previously discussed in my home decor segment, the dining room in my apartment is not my favorite place. Yes, it is because my boyfriend refuses to get rid of the bright RED dining chairs, not because the room sucks. However, I have thought long and hard how to resolve this issue and I have come up with the ultimate solution. Since my kitchen is right off of this room—with a black, white, and pops of lemon yellow color scheme—I am going to blend the two rooms until there is absolutely zero reason to keep the damn chairs!
To begin this project subtly, I am starting by collaging the giant, empty wall behind the dining table. I compiled some old canvas paintings I made and also purchased a variety of blank canvases in different shapes and sizes that will all be forced to live together on the same wall. Keeping to the black-white-yellow palette, the new paintings are rather simple. However, I could not resist the temptation of throwing in a Missoni inspired print on one tiny canvas that matches the Missoni for Target tea cups I bought (that are proudly on display in my kitchen).
I spent about two days perfecting my art before designing the layout. The best way to go about this without destroying your wall first, is to actually place each paining on the floor and move them around until you find a layout that suits you and your space. I settled on the above layout but quickly came to realize that I would like to add more. I must say, though, in two days I have already begun liking the dining room, which is a huge stride forward. This project was so much fun and pretty cheap (two things VERY important for my boyfriend to know) and knowing that I had full control of each painting brought a whole new sense of personalization to the room.
Stay tuned for how the room becomes even more transformed with simple touches like a vase of fresh peonies, a modern table runner, and eventually….NEW CHAIRS!
Christian Louboutin
My stackable heaven continues…the latest addition to my coffee table books obsession is a combination of my favorite shoe designer and giant, glossy pages of this new book. With the fold out cover, pop-up legs adorned with the red-bottomed shoe, this little piece of amazingness is worth every cent. A tantalizing interview with Christian, along with a time-lined lookbook of sorts, the Fetish section brings a kinky, S&M photoshoot that adds a sense of addiction that is appropriate for those Louboutin lovers.
Tres Chic!
Jonathan Adler is my soul mate
With my birthday coming up, I already took the liberty of spending the Amazon giftcard from my Mommy. There are so many books that I want I had to divide my purchases into categories. The first, and most important at this point in my decorating frenzy, are the home decor books. But really, it is killing two birds with one stone since after I am done reading them they will become an aesthetic fixture on my coffee tables. Out of the three I bought, the Jonathan Adler on Happy Chic colors is my absolute favorite. He encapsulates every element of what I love in a color filled room. With lots of white lacquered furniture along with splashes of vivid colors, Adler truly knows what he is doing. Above are some of the rooms that I could not get off my mind, and in turn, have decided to mimic some of his concepts using my own color scheme and style. While I know that Jonathan and I should just get married and live in home decor bliss happily ever after, I also know that reality (living with a straight man) will not hinder my excitement for Jonathan Adler’s designs.
Happy Decorating!
Fabulous Holiday Destinations: Paris
My obsession with the Parisian culture will never fade – it’s so sophisticated, elegant and chic. I love to sit outside at L’avenue on the Champs Elysee, in the summer, it’s perfect for lunch or an evening cocktail.
For me – no visit to Paris is complete without an afternoon of vintage shopping at Didier Ludot! I always find the most insane vintage pieces there to inspire designs for my collection. xoRZ

Taboo Halloween
This year instead of a big Hollywood Halloween, Paul & I decided to throw a soiree with our closest friends. With a lot creepy decor and enough research our apartment was transformed into a haunted house with plenty of festive cocktails. Since we are avid game-players, we also broke into groups and played Taboo. While a large group is tough to coordinate, we had the ultimate Halloween experience as everyone was required to dress up.
My Tinkerbell costume was partially store bought with plenty of DIY elements added to make it my own. My giant bun was adorned with sequins and rope for a new spin on the traditional ballerina bun. My new favorite costume accessory that I discovered just this year is glittered nude fishnets. They not only give the illusion of perfect legs, they also enhance your skin color.
My snack and drink table was covered in a bevy of homemade treats. The deviled eggs were colored to change up their appearance, and my cupcakes were sprayed with orange dye. The witches brew is actually a red wine sangria with lots of fruits to soak up the cocktail. A small piece of dry ice goes a long way. Lastly, the signature shooter of the night was the Brain Hemorrhage. Baileys, peach schnapps, and some grenadine combined is how to make this scary shot.
Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! Until next year…
